According to the United Nations, the huge floods in north-west Pakistan have affected 13.8 million people – entirely eclispsing the damage done in 2004’s tsunami. Maurizio Giuliano (a spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) said “This disaster is worse than the tsunami, the 2005 Pakistan earthquake and the Haiti earthquake.”The size of the area ravaged by the floods is apparently the same size as England and has affected 20 million people. So why has it garnered less media attention and far fewer donations from around the world? Donate at oxfam.org.au.You don’t know them, but they need your help.
